Oracle Container Cloud Service
January 11, 2017
The use of enterprise-grade containers is growing in development/test cases, and Oracle provides a robust and easy-to use cloud service that will allow you to efficiently create a Docker container infrastructure. With Oracle Container Cloud Service (OCCS), you only use and pay for what you need, can create multi-host infrastructures, use your own, pre-existing containers, and fully integrate with the Oracle Public Cloud.
Only What You Need
Whether you need a short term or long term solution, Oracle Container Cloud Service provides a flexible and easy to use environment in order to create the infrastructure that you need.
With Oracle Container Cloud Service, you can create, use, and pay for only what you need--from one virtual machine (VM) to any number and type of VMs and hosts. This allows you to start small while maintaining the flexibility to grow as needed. OCCS service discovery is built in to enable multi-container cross host deployments.
Flexibility through Containers
Containers are highly adaptable and offer flexibility in technology including the type of database, language, monitoring tools, etc. More than simple flexibility, with OCCS, you can use your own Docker containers or start with Oracle’s templates and quick-start wizards and build from there.
Oracle Public Cloud
OCCS is a cloud native service that is part of the Oracle Cloud Suite. As such, it adds to the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) features that were already available on the Oracle Cloud. It also compliments Oracle PaaS Applications with "Bring your Own Container" service.
No Learning Curve
OCCS is GUI driven and API ready. The advantage of this is that you can use OCCS without any real learning curve by using premade container apps that can be customized as needed. Further, OCCS uses self-healing application deployments and will automatically restart containers that fail. This feature maintains the desired state of deployed multi-container applications.
