CIOs and CFOs Will Double Their Security Spending
By: Database Management Feature Editor

February 27, 2012

According to Gartner, the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, worldwide security service spending is forecast to reach $38.3 billion in 2012 and to surpass $49.1 billion in the year 2015. The information technology management segment of security services is also expected to increase from $8 billion to $14.9 billion in 2015. The Gartner research director, Lawrence Pingree, was quoted in Networkworld as saying, "Factors such as desire to economize and the difficulty in establishing round-the-clock personnel coverage for security will continue to drive corporate adoption of managed security services but it's the small-to-mid-sized companies that are exhibiting demand in particular now."

Pingree cut to the chase by adding that organizations are looking at managed services providers as a way to maximize resources, improve processes and lower ongoing operating expenditures. Companies are looking for external partners to help them with the expertise they do not have in-house. That is precisely why companies turn to CommitDBA.com as a preferred partner for their remote database management services.

How does this affect you?

Your business database is the lifeblood of your business, likely containing customer, inventory, sales and accounting information, and more. The CIOs and CFOs surveyed in the Gartner study know that if their SQL or Oracle databases are not secure, they could be vulnerable to corruption, data loss or a security breach. Managing database risk is an important priority for them and should be for you, as well. Even in this economy, you can have the peace of mind that comes with 24/7 database management support and security.
